About ADYPU Online
Ajeenkya DY Patil University was established in 2015 in Pune, Maharashtra, under the DY Patil Group, a network of educational and healthcare institutions that carries one of the most recognised names in Indian public life. The university operates from a 100-acre knowledge campus at Charholi Budruk, Lohegaon, Pune, and has built its academic standing through nine schools of study spanning Management, Engineering, Technology, Design, Law, Liberal Arts, Film and Media, Architecture and Hotel Management.
The accreditations ADYPU holds are not self-declared. NAAC-accredited with an A grade. AICTE-approved, UGC-recognised and NBA-accredited, ranked in the NIRF. These are assessments conducted by external bodies against defined standards, and they reflect the quality of what the university has been doing since it opened rather than what it plans to do.
ADYPU Online exists because the university recognised something important: the students most likely to benefit from a serious university education are not always the students best positioned to access one in the traditional way. The specialisations within them were built by looking at where employers are hiring and what skills those employers are genuinely struggling to find, not by updating a legacy catalogue.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain brings more than 38 years of experience in higher education and leadership to Ajeenkya DY Patil University, where he assumed the role of Vice Chancellor in August 2024. With a PhD in Transportation Engineering, a Master's in Town Planning and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Dr. Jain has authored seven books and published over 150 research papers in his fields. He has attracted nearly ₹1 Crore in research funding and has guided 12 PhD students through completion.
His vision for ADYPU Online is direct: digital education done with integrity. A programme that carries the university's academic standards rather than a reduced version of them.
